Christos Dedemadis

Christos Dedemadis was born in Athens and grew up in a small suburb near Mount Hymettos. As a child, he enjoyed painting and later took up skateboarding. His first attempt at studying economics was in the town of Livadia. During this time, he realised that the field of economics and its teaching did not suit him. However, the time spent in this provincial town allowed him to connect with the surrounding nature and appreciate the value of community through his relationships with fellow students.

His interests shifted towards art, specifically theatre, prompting his return to Athens to study dramatic art. During this period, and throughout his theatrical studies, he encountered various therapeutic methods, including Thai massage, Reiki, Bowtech, Shiatsu, and Acupuncture, as well as oriental physical and energy cultivation techniques such as Yoga, Kung fu, Qigong, Tai-ji, Ninjitsu, and Gicheon. After completing his dramatic art studies, he became a co-founding member of a theatre collective where these oriental physical practices and natural therapeutic methods played a significant role. Reflecting on those years, he recognised a process of purification through the art of theatre, which led him towards the therapeutic arts.
In parallel with rehearsals and performances, he began studying Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, and Shiatsu at the Academy of Ancient Greek and Traditional Chinese Medicine. His education was enriched by excellent teachers and the study director, Alexandros Tilikidis, a pioneering doctor, acupuncturist, and educator who emphasised honesty, simplicity, humility, and the importance of connecting with natural phenomena and traditions as essential knowledge for survival.
From that point on, a new journey began for Christos. He continued to practice Qigong, Taiji, and Kung-fu, all of which remain integral to his daily life. In addition to Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, and Shiatsu, he studied Chinese Herbal Medicine, Greek Herbs, and the Balance Acupuncture Method at the same institution. Over the years, through various seminars, he also explored additional therapeutic methods such as Reiki, Pranic Healing, Body Harmony, and Tuina, all while maintaining Chinese Medicine as the central focus of his work.
He studies Ancient Greek Medicine and embraces exploring commonalities between Ancient Greek and Chinese Medicine, aiming to uncover a potential shared foundation. This exploration points to a primal knowledge that has guided humanity through countless challenges to its present state.
In his view, therapy is deeply intertwined with a philosophical and spiritual attitude toward life, which involves harmony with nature, personal introspection, and a daily commitment to self-awareness, truth, kindness, and beauty.
